On January 19th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate two new metro lines in Mumbai. These new metro lines will link the Western Express Highway and Link Road, providing much needed relief to commuters. The project has cost a whopping 12,600 crore and is considered one of the most ambitious projects in Mumbai.
The inauguration of these two new metro lines by PM Modi will be a significant milestone for the city of Mumbai. It will provide an efficient mode of transport for the people of Mumbai and reduce traffic congestion on roads. It is expected that this project will be a game-changer for the city’s transportation system and further improve its infrastructure.
Both metro lines are expected to to carry around three-four lakh passengers on a daily basis and will result in reducing the traffic on both link road and western express highway.
Both Metro lines will be opened for the public use on January 20. The ticket fare is ₹10 for 3 km with an additional charge after the 3 km mark.
The Metro trains are made in India and the foundation stone was laid by PM Modi in 2015.
